"There were a few large buildings in the courtyard, stables, a guardhouse, and such, but [Samaki] felt a thrill when he saw the gate into the Hall. Four massive columns had been carved from the mountain, and above the columns stood statues of four men. Who the statues had originally been was unclear, but from the different colouring Samaki could tell the heads had been replaced. Their bodies were dressed in garbs of Mahat yet their heads wore helms of Matawe. Between the columns was the entrance into the Hall, sealed with large wooden doors intricately carved with battling figures."

Built into the side of the mountain in the city of Hattute, this is the home to the King Under the Mountain, Hatturigus VI.

History

This palace predates Hattute, and there is evidence it was perhaps a holy temple before Amotefen VI decided to build his great city dedicated to the god Tefen there.

Although serving as the home and palace to both King Hatturigus and King Laberne III, it is also seen as a temple dedicated to all gods.
